The Internal Revenue Service and Tchaikovsky
I know the tax man hath come and gone for this calendar year, but I had to share a little of our tax experience. Thanks to tax software, we finished our taxes and thought everything was good to e-file. Unfortunately, the IRS didn't have Elliot's information on file so the system rejected our electronic return. In an attempt to rectify the situation, I spent three hours on the phone with the Social Security Administration and the IRS. As you can imagine, much of this time was spent on hold listening to hold music. The hold music was, get this, looped selections from Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker." What more need be said: "Nutcracker." Amazing.
